Shared Writing

  1. Shared Writing-

    • Eye-gazer assisted pencil- student looks twice- once at the section of letters and then at the colour of the letter- write down in a notebook whatever letter the student chooses

    • Letter folder assisted pencil- go through the alphabet and the student “tells” you when they want you to write down the letter- can tell you with a voice output switch, yes/no visuals, yes/no gestures- write down in a notebook whatever letter the student chooses

    • Ideas for writing- choose a picture prompt and topic area, provide simple sentence starters (I like ___________).

    • Make connections to the student’s writing (the letters they’ve chosen) and the writing topic

    • Classroom sign-in- have kids write their name to sign-in to class
